The red-hot Audi TT RS Plus has been revealed ahead of its unveiling at next month’s 2012 Geneva motor show.
As the name suggests, the Audi quattro team at Neckarsulm, Germany, has taken the wicked TT RS and added more power, uprated brakes and suspension, and a number of go-fast exterior elements.
Power and torque from the car’s 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine are up 15kW and 15Nm, creating a total output of 265kW and 465Nm.
The result is a 4.1-second 0-100km/h sprint for the seven-speed dual-clutch Coupe model – making it two tenths faster than the TT RS, and more than a second quicker than the comparatively tame TTS. The TT RS Plus will also be manufactured as a Roadster and with a six-speed manual transmission, and is capable of reaching a top speed of 280km/h.
Despite being quicker than the BMW Z4, Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG and the Porsche Boxster and Cayman, the Audi TT RS Plus uses as little as 8.5 litres of fuel per 100km under European standards.
