Despite carrying different badges, the Toyota GT 86 and the Subaru BRZ have gone hand in hand. Now it appears that Toyota and Subaru are at it again, offering a stripped down version of their respective sports coupes as a way to give customers free reign on how they want to design their cars.

Lexus promised they would bring two new models to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and now that we’re weeks away from one of the biggest auto events of the calendar year, we know what those two models are.

One of the twonew Geneva-bound vehicles is the Lexus RX F-Sport, joining the face-lifted 2013 Lexus RX in the Japanese automaker’s booth in Geneva. The former appears to carry a lot of Lexus’ new design language and, in particular, the new spindle grille looks pretty aggressive and menacing. These features provide more evidence of an aggressive new look for the high-performance crossover that’s a far departure from the more subdued versions of the past. In addition to the spindle grille, the RX F-Sport also comes with a new front lip spoiler, new fog lamps, new LED daytime running lights, and plenty of F-Sport accessories to match everything else the crossover has.

Rolls Royce Ghost

The Rolls Royce Ghost is defined as seductively simple and Vorsteiners believe that is how it should be.

The latest addition to their product line-up is no exception. Vorsteiner took a look at the Ghost and designed a package that will maintain a seductively simple style and add functionality to support its performance.

Starting with the front end is an add-on front spoiler with a replaceable GT center chin splitter that gives it a subtle but sportier appearance. It will then be accompanied by the side skirts blade attachments with integrated wing elements to further assist with the additional downforce.

Tesla Model X open to world

Californian based electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors, has today unveiled it’s Model X concept car at Tesla’s own design studio in Los Angeles.

The Model X f an innovative door design known as Falcon Wing doors, which conveniently open up, and out, for easy and unrestricted access. With the doors open, there is sufficient height for an adult to stand in the centre row to lock in a child booster seat, for example. The second row seats can slide forward for easy access to the third row seats.

Model X will offer a choice of either a 60 or 80 kWh batteries; expect performance to be in the range of sub 5.0 seconds for the 0-100km/h sprint.

Part SUV and part minivan, the Model X will seat seven adults across three rows of seats.

Passenger comfort and cargo space will be exemplary with the Tesla’s flat battery positioned under the floor, while a second storage area is located under the bonnet.

Powering Tesla’s Model X will be dual electric motors with all-wheel drive for additional safety in wet weather. The all-wheel drive system is able to detect slippage and redirect power and torque to those wheels with the most traction.

Mercedes-Benz innovative Active Seat-Belt Buckle

Mercedes-Benz is introducing the innovative Active Seat-Belt Buckle device for rear-seat passengers. When engaged, the system increases rear-seat safety by pre-tensioning the seatbelts before a crash.

The seat belt is able to tighten and firmly secure the passenger, reducing sideways and forward movement. It aims to reduce the chance of passengers moving about in the cabin.

Using an electric motor, the buckle itself is capable of increasing tension by up to 80mm when Pre-Safe is activated. For added convenience, this same mechanism extends out by 70mm to assist in buckling up upon entry to the vehicle.

Once the belt is locked in, the buckle retracts and takes up unnecessary slack. This function, up until now, has only been available on front seat belts. Prof. Dr. Ing. Rodolfo Schöneburg, head of passive safety and vehicle functions at Mercedes-Benz Cars, says,
